Nursery Renovations

Welcome back to my blog and all my randomness. I hope you all had a glorious Canada Day. My family and I went to the city of Summerside and enjoyed seeing the Tall Ships for the first time. They are so cool, and if I was single I think I would love to travel the world on them. 🙂

Along with Canada Day and other festivals around my area, the first week of July has been busy including finishing up renovations for the nursery. The nursery has been my first big project that I have taken on. I have been working on it since May (a long time).

The bedroom was once the coldest room in the house. One day I decided to rip out the exterior walls. Little did I know what sort of mess I was getting myself into. Since the house is a hundred years old, the insulation looked at least 50. There were a lot of really gross nests in the walls, but after four afternoons of hard work I managed to clean out all the insulation and drywall.

My sister had been planning a visit that weekend so I asked her if she would be willing to help me out. Thank goodness she said yes. Off to Kent Building Supplies, and with the help of a DIY home renovation book, we bought everything we needed. That Saturday and Sunday we insulated and put up the poly. Here are are a few pictures of the process.

Thanks for tuning in. Come back soon as I will post a couple of pictures of the next steps in my renovation adventure.

  1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but
I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang
    of it!
