Where has the summer gone? It feels as though it flew by this year. Where I live, in Eastern Canada, we were still having cold days in June. However, when July and August rolled around, we had major heat waves – record breaking heat.
Now that September is here we are finally getting back into what I consider comfortable weather and I couldn’t be happier. I have been cutting lawns this summer so I am thankful for the heat waves to be over. Anyone else thankful for the heat to be coming to an end?
School is starting this week and I know I am not the only parent excited about it, haha. Our son thrives in a routine environment and the fast few months were anything but. He is going into grade 6 and has already begun talking about growing a beard. Eeek. I am looking forward to the structure for our entire family and definitely more writing time (fingers crossed)!
As an author, my ideal writing space is a private and quite space away from the noise and distractions of my wonderful family. I actually have a small old building on my 13 acre piece of land that I plan to convert to a studio/guest house, one of these days – complete with a writing space for moi, and an art space for my better half. 🙂
As for right now, I am writing on my laptop either on the sofa while my baby girl plays by my feet or I am upstairs in a tiny room. Seriously, this room is tiny – it was a storage space before I converted it into my ‘office’. It isn’t a practical room for my writing but somehow I still manage to get my creative side flowing.
For all my fellow writers out there, where do you do your best work?
